The Foundation
After hosting the Alpine World Ski Championships in 1974, St. Moritz did not return as an Alpine Ski World Cup venue until the end of the 1990s. As part of the bid for the World Ski Championships, which were then successfully held in 2003, a new organisation, the entire infrastructure on the mountain and a sustainable concept were developed, which has laid the foundation for events on St. Moritz's local mountain to this day and, hopefully, far into the future. Thanks to these efforts and the support of the entire region, St. Moritz has since established itself as a fixture on the alpine racing calendar and has built up a broad base of expertise and resources over the years. The cornerstones of our event are the hundreds of volunteers, the army and civil defence, the local sponsors consisting of the municipality, mountain railways and region, as well as a lot of passion and enthusiasm. Our goal is to create the foundation at the highest level so that alpine ski racing is rooted in even the smallest junior races and future generations, whether in competitive or recreational sports, can continue to experience and celebrate the joy of skiing.

Supporting Organsiation
Alpine Sports Events St. Moritz / Engadin (ASESE)
After the 2003 World Championships, it was decided that a supporting organisation was needed to provide broad regional support for alpine events in the Engadin and to centrally define the strategy for future alpine events. ASESE (Alpine Sports Events St. Moritz / Engadin) was founded for this purpose. The association's board consists of individuals from local communities, tourism, the hotel industry and mountain railways, who have since been responsible for the candidacy, planning and implementation of Alpine events such as Ski World Cup races, World Championships and other sports and tourism-promoting events at the various ski resorts in the region.

Voluntari Engiadina
