Discover snow sport in all its variety
The FIS World Snow Day Engadin takes place on Sunday 15 January 2017 at Salastrains. On this particular Sunday between 10:00 and 14:00, the Corviglia ski area will be where the entire snow-sport family meets. All children and young people are invited to spend a fun day discovering snow sport in all its great variety. The aim is to promote the long-term popularity of leisure-time winter sports, above all through lots of fun activities.
Fun games and activities
Future ski stars and world snowboard champions can expect a packed programme of entertainment. More than 10 ski clubs and ski schools from the Upper Engadine will be getting together to organise fun games and activities in the area next to the Skischool Center Salastrains. Youngsters will, for example, be able to get practice in pushing bob-sleighs or in gliding over the snow on airboards.
One highlight is the Fun Race. Skier, cross-country fan, snowboarder or free-skier – it doesn’t matter which – the young athletes will be competing against themselves in a slalom race. The goal is to cover the course twice in as close to the same time as possible. The chances of winning are thus the same for everyone and at the end many cool gifts from Völkl Schweiz will be raffled among all participants. On this day it’s not performance that counts – but above all snow-sport fun and friendship.
